What To Expect From Your Retreat For Tired Mums…
Your day will be a blissful day of self care and deep relaxation in a stunning countryside venue in Kinsbourne Green. Think of it as a mini-mum-holiday, a day where you will be completely taken care of and enabled to fully switch off and relax. There will be lots of lying down and deep nourishing rest. Oh and lots of healthy food and juices too (and perhaps a treat or two too).

Does it matter if I have never done Pilates before? Absolutely not. The class will be tailored to all levels. You will be required to complete a health questionnaire before the retreat so I can plan the class appropriately,
What is Yoga Nidra? Yoga nidra is a form of guided meditation that allows you to scan your body and tap into a relaxed state of consciousness, a blissful place betweeen wakefulness and sleep.
What is a Sound Bath? A sound bath is a meditative experience where your senses are ‘bathed’ in sound waves using healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, percussion, chimes and even human singing. The experience is all the more profound after yoga/Pilates or when you are already in a relaxed state.
I don’t eat dairy or gluten so will the food be okay for me? Yes I will cater for all dietary requirements
How many spaces are there? There are 9 spaces on the retreat
What do I need to bring? Please bring a mat, pillow and blanket. Everything else will be provided.
As a Pilates Teacher, Hypnobirthing Teacher, Women’s Wellness Coach, Mum of three, City escapee and perpetual life-juggler, Angela is a true believer that your health is your wealth. She places her family’s wellbeing at the heart of their lifestyle. As well as believing in the healing power of movement, Angela takes a holistic approach to wellbeing and enjoys sharing her journey to wellness with her clients. Her wellbeing retreats are a compilation of Angela’s favourite activities to calm the mind and body.
Bodhini Hridaya is a Meditation Facilitator, Yoga Instructor, Sound Healer & Reiki Practitioner. As a meditation facilitator with a personal practice of over 25 years, Bodhini is committed to guiding others on their path to health and happiness through the techniques and philosophies that have brought balance and positive benefits to her own life. Bodhini is based in Harpenden and works hard to bring calm to a chaotic world.
James is Zing Wellness’s very own massage therapist. It has been said that he has magic hands. You can choose the area you want him to focus on. I recommend back, neck & shoulders with the hot stones. Everyone attending the retreat will be offered a 30 minute massage or 30 minutes of reflexology.
Heather is a wonderful reflexologist specialising in classical reflexology, pre-conception, pregnancy and endocrine (hormone) balance. Heather works intuitively with her clients ensuring a nurturing, relaxing treatment. She will leave you in a state of pure relaxation and balance. Everyone attending the retreat will be offered a 30 minute massage or 30 minutes of reflexology.
Claire runs Delicious and Real, a meal planning business. She is passionate about showing people how to take simple ingredients and cook them in a non-complicated manner. Claire believes that by planning meals, you will make more balanced choices; save time and money and eliminate those stressful dinner-time dramas! Claire is designing a nutritious and tasty menu for the retreat and even going one step further and helping me by preparing them. What a super star.
Laura Margo runs The Program providing cold pressed juices which are raw and unpasteurised, with zero preservatives or additives and packaged sustainably. She juices them all herself and they are nourishing and full of goodness! She will be providing juices for Zing Retreats that will be freshly pressed on the day itself. Laura’s vision is to make healthy, sustainable living easier and more accessible and I am super keen to support her.

The day was absolutely fantastic, very insightful and a great intro to hypnobirthing. I came away informed and feeling confident about the journey head. The food and juices were also very delicious. My massage was also amazing, Mery was great and applied the perfect amount of pressure in all areas! Lastly, the Pilates and mediation really helped me relax and unwind. I actually managed to go into a very deep state in the last meditation session which had never happened to me before. Thank for a lovely day all round. Would definitely join you again if you did another one before I’m due.
Angela’s pregnancy retreat was absolutely blissful. A chance to focus completely on myself, my body and my state of mind. Combining movement in the Pilates classes with hypnobirthing practice and a reflexology treatment, I left feeling thoroughly relaxed and recharged. Plus there were delicious (and healthy!) juices and food and some lovely chat with other mums to be. Highly recommended and I’m looking forward to going on the tired mum retreat when baby is old enough to be left!

Angela’s retreat should be prescribed to every pregnant woman. It was informative and restorative, allowing me to take the time that I don’t normally have to reflect on what I need and think about the journey ahead. Every single element of the day had been so thoughtfully put together by Angela, and the timetable was everything a pregnant woman could want: a perfect combination of Pilates, hypnobirthing, massage and discussion, fuelled by delicious and nutritious food, juices and treats from brands who I have gone on to seek out beyond the day itself. I wish every Sunday could be a retreat Sunday in the lead up to my due date!
Hi Angela Thank you so much for a wonderfully relaxing day. Certainly the most hippy thing I’ve done so far with the sound bath. I do feel really relaxed today and calmer which is amazing. My mind is more clear and I have a sense of ‘not sweating the small stuff’. It is nice to be in a group situation and realise that loads of people are tired mums and all juggling / striving to do our best.
