What To Expect…
This is a 1-2-1 Pilates class aimed at EVERYONE who wants release, move and strengthen their body but they prefer to work on a 1-2-1 basis than attend a group class. Through deep, simple and precise movements and gentle releases we will alleviate postural based tension, mobilise your body, improve your balance, increase your flexibility, as well as strengthening and toning your body. This is often popular for those that have an injury or very specific goals as the classes are completely tailored to YOUR needs and focused on YOUR goals. The classes are 60 minutes long.
The classes incorporate seated, standing and floor work. They utilise a lot of small equipment such as massage balls, fascial release balls, therabands, wobble cushions, overballs and foam rollers so that the classes are varied, interesting and fun.
Best of all, it is a lovely opportunity to have some time and space for you away from your busy routine.
Sessions are interchangeable with massage sessions held at the Zing Wellness Studio so we can mix and match as appropriate. You can also purchase an equipment bundle so you can practice your exercises at home for a discounted rate of £30.

My own experience with chronic pain caused by congenital hip disorder and leading to acute osteoarthritis and experiencing the relief that Pilates gave me, inspired me to train to be a Pilates teacher. I initially wanted to deepen my knowledge about my own body but soon realised I was deeply passionate about helping others experience the benefits of Pilates and restorative movement. Pilates is so simple but often overlooked as a form of preventative care and rehabilitation. I trained with Allison Swan, founding member of the Pilates Foundation and Independent Pilates Teaching Association, gaining a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Pilates. This was no mean feat as it involved 594 hours of lectures, home study, practical training and teaching practice whilst working full time in London and being a first-time mum. I know, what an achievement, right? This comprehensive training has provided me with a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology, health and fitness, Pilates matwork including Joseph Pilates’ original repertoire and more modern-day pre-Pilates. It has also provided me with extensive knowledge of working with those rehabilitating, older adults and pre and postnatal women. My training covered most common pathologies and I have had many successes working with clients with conditions such as unexplained back pain, arthritis, spinal disc injury, scoliosis, hypermobility, neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s and mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. Most importantly, I am so fascinated by my work that I am always striving to learn more be it through listening to my clients, training, reading, or collaborating with other health professionals.

Angela is a calming and empathetic teacher who teaches people as people not just bodies. She considers the physical body as a whole progressing you towards a balanced body and mind.
I first started my one on one sessions with Angela back in 2016. I was a complete beginner at Pilates, but had been recommended Pilates for lower back & hip pain, amongst various other health hurdles. From the first session that I had with Angela I knew that she had a vested interest in supporting me along my journey. Angela’s extensive knowledge and pure passion for teaching have allowed me to follow tailored plans in each hour long session that have not only improved my core mobility, breathing and overall health but also helpedme to achieve a balanced mind. The 1-2-1 sessions with Angela have really helped me to learn in great detail the positive impact Pilates can have on the body & mind and every session is thoroughly enjoyable. Angela’s coaching style is easy to follow and she is super supportive in getting the best from you during each session. Angela goes above and beyond always supporting with additional information or advice in each session which has been invaluable for my journey. I would highly recommend her one on one sessions as it has changed my life for the better!
