What To Expect From Your Pilates Class…

It’s about time that you treated yourself! At Zing Wellness, we know that all mums need time for themselves. You deserve a moment to press pause on the everyday chaos of family life and escape for an hour of ‘me time’.

This is a 1-2-1 version of the Mums that Move group class. If you are a busy mum and can’t make my group classes this might be your preferred option. Many clients feel they get more effective results working in this more focused way and like to work to their own timescales and have sessions completely tailored to their own needs .

Mums That Move Pilates classes are restorative, challenging and strengthening Pilates classes, designed to follow on from the Core Care & Pelvic Floor Repair classes – perfect for when your children are a bit (or a lot!) older.

They allow you to focus on your mind/body connection and release tension in the body. If you want to build a connection with your pelvic floor and core strength and function, this is the class for you. It is also ideal if you have a weak or hypertonic pelvic floor, are suffering any urinary incontinence, have a diastasis recti, a prolapse, lower back pain or any post-pregnancy niggles.

This class builds on the themes introduced in the Core Care & Pelvic Floor Repair course. We embed them through practice, practice and more practice! We continue to focus on crucial breath work; connecting with your pelvic floor and your deep abdominals; and learning how to strengthen and relax them.

We take the breath work a step further and apply it to functional exercise to strengthen and tone the body. We all know that being a mum is hard work! It requires us to be strong, agile and proficient in lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting and lunging. It’s non-stop!

Mums That Move classes incorporate seated, standing and floor work. We make use of small equipment such as massage balls, fascial release balls, therabands, wobble cushions, overballs and foam rollers. This means that classes are always varied, interesting and fun.

You can expect the usual beneficial access to a closed Facebook group where you can talk to other mums and build your community of support.

I have been to a few Pilates classes before and found that I and quickly lost interest as it didn’t really make much sense. I thought I would give Pilates one last go to help correct my extremely poor posture as a result of multiple abdominal surgeries. I am so pleased that Angela was recommend to me. Angela has a superb teaching style, which is personable, constructive, and thoughtful. She works with you to ensure that you are working in the correct way and optimising the exercises. I am really looking forward to continuing with her classes.
