Why Invest In Pregnancy Pilates & Hypnobirthing?
The Pilates exercises are focused on gentle releases to alleviate pregnancy tension caused by your ever-changing body shape, maintaining a balanced posture and optimal alignment and reducing the stresses and strains caused by your growing foetus and bump. This will help you prevent back pain and tension building up in the body. We want you to ward off SPD or pelvic girdle pain (PGP) or if you already have these pregnancy related conditions learn how to manage them (and ideally rehabilitate them).
Gentle restorative movement will help you connect with your baby and pregnant body. There is a deep focus on breath work and connecting with your pelvic floor and deep abdominals and learning how to both strengthen and release them.
We focus on optimal foetal positioning and preparing your body for childbirth. This will aide you with your birth preparation and enable a positive birth experience.
The course gives you all the tracks so you can practice hypnosis for birth to help you unwind, relax and place you in a positive mindset no matter what your birth preferences might be. Our hypnobirthing MP3 audio tracks will help you to prepare you for birth, help you to relax, alleviate stress and anxiety.
I believe strongly in preparing mums for the postnatal period so we also incorporate functional exercise to strengthen and tone the body as being a mum is hard work.

When can I start pregnancy Pilates classes? You can start classes from 14 weeks depending on how you are feeling.
Can anyone do your pregnancy Pilates class? There are some pregnancy conditions that will require medical consent for you to exercise and a few that mean that you should not participate in exercise. I will send you a health screening form to complete and this must be completed before you commence exercise.
I am a specialist pilates teacher with deep knowledge and experience of working with the pregnant and postnatal population. I did my initial training with Rachel Rafiefar and completed her Thoughtful Body Pregnancy and Postnatal Postgraduate Assessment in June 2015.
Realising that this was an area I was truly passionate about and wanted to specialise in, I went on Carolyne Anthony’s Center for Women’s Fitness Pre and Postnatal training. Still thirsty for more knowledge I have recently started Advanced CPD in Modern Pregnancy Functional Exercise & Birth Preparation Programming with Burrell Education, the leading Women’s Wellness, Fitness & Therapy Educator. Most importantly, I have been through three pregnancies and births and, due to congenital hip disorder, I really struggled through my first two pregnancies ending up spending the third trimester on crutches. I really do understand the toll pregnancy can have on your body both emotionally and physically. My Pilates studies and personal experience really helped me through my pregnancies and births resulting in a really wonderful pregnancy and home birth third time round. I am passionate about supporting women through their pregnancies and helping them to have the birth experience they want whilst being fit, relaxed and pain free throughout pregnancy and strong for life as a mum.
I have experience and many successes supporting pregnant mums with a range of pregnancy conditions such as pelvic girdle pain (PGP) including pubic pain which was previously called symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD), sciatica, sacro-iliac pain, pelvic floor weakness, back and neck tension, piriformis pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, oedema, hypermobility, headaches, pregnancy related insomnia, stress and anxiety.

I enjoyed Angela’s Move and Bloom Pilates and it helped my back a lot. Even if the hypnobirthing is not for you, I would do it just for the quality of the pilates and all you learn from the course. You barely need your NCT after that! 🙂
I thoroughly enjoyed the Pregnancy Pilates class. I suffered with SPD during my second pregnancy and found this class really supportive in helping keep me moving easier and avoiding SPD in my third pregnancy. The classes were relaxed and friendly and Angela is so knowledgeable that it was an all round good experience. I would highly recommend these classes.
I attended pregnancy Pilates classes with Angela just before the birth of my son. The classes are the perfect balance of stretching and toning to prepare your body for the latter stages of pregnancy, the birth and also postnatally. Angela helps you to focus on your posture, breathing and pelvic floor – all of which played a huge role during my labour and aided a very quick recovery. Angela is a brilliant teacher. She’s calm, thoughtful and incredibly knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed all her classes and will be back for some post natal sessions.
