What To Expect From Your Pregnancy Pilates Classes…
Congratulations on your pregnancy! What a wonderfully exciting time!
Hopefully your morning sickness has eased a little and you’re feeling ready to get back into some gentle, restorative exercise. You might also want to get birth-ready, both physically and mentally, and meet other mums-to-be, via our closed client Facebook group, to start building your invaluable tribe of support.
Since we know how much pregnant mums have to contend with (especially when you have to fit in all those ‘nesting’ projects before your baby arrives), you can also book private 1-2-1 Move and Bloom classes to fit into your schedule.
Move & Bloom classes are designed to support you through your pregnancy, prepare you for a positive birth experience, build up your strength for life as a mum and prepare you for a smooth postnatal recovery and, as much as possible, life beyond!
In the 1-2-1 Pilates classes, we’ll focus on gentle releases to alleviate pregnancy tension caused by your ever-changing body shape. We’ll work to maintain a balanced posture and optimal alignment and we’ll reduce the stresses and strains caused by your growing foetus and bump. This will help to prevent back pain and tension building up in your body. We’ll aim to ward off pregnancy-related conditions, such as symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) and pelvic girdle pain (PGP), and, if necessary, learn how to manage and rehabilitate these.
Gentle restorative movement will help you to connect with your baby and pregnant body. There is a strong focus on breath work and connecting with your pelvic floor and deep abdominals. You’ll learn how to strengthen and release them.
We focus on optimal foetal positioning and preparing your body for childbirth. This will aid you with your birth preparation and empower you for a positive birth experience.
If you wish, we can practise hypnosis for birth to help you to unwind, relax and retain a positive mindset, in order to suit your birth preferences. You will be provided with hypnobirthing audio tracks to prepare you for birth, help you to relax, alleviate stress and anxiety.
I am passionate about preparing mums for the postnatal period so we will talk about what you can do to support your postnatal recovery. We’ll also incorporate functional exercise to strengthen and tone the body – being a mum is hard work!

Our Expertise
After feeling the physical strains of pregnancy it was a welcome relief to begin the 1-2-1 pregnancy course with Angela, even after our first session I felt like a new woman with spring in my step, my posture improved dramatically over the weeks and most of all my mobility. Angela’s experience, drive & enthusiasm is infectious, definitely recommend this course…Thanks Angela, you’re amazing!
I have been seeing Angela for individual and group classes since 2016. She taught me both postnatal and pre natal pilates. I have had had many Pilates teachers before Angela and she has been the best by far. She is expert at assessing your abilities and goals, with great results. Angela spends time explaining how to do the exercises properly so that you get the most out of the classes and understand your own body’s strengths and weaknesses. She plans every lesson in advance and puts huge effort into understanding you as an individual, not just your pilates abilities but your general well-being. She has a holistic approach and will recommend other professionals when needed. I highly recommend her.
I loved my 1-1 sessions with Angela during my pregnancy with my second child – they were like a weekly therapy session for me when life was busy juggling working and being a Mum to a toddler. Angela is a wonderful teacher and really took the time to plan each lesson meticulously, tailoring it to my needs. Movement and exercise is really important to me as someone who has run marathons and competed in triathlons in the past and she was fantastic in modifying the exercises for me as my pregnancy progressed whilst still ensuring that I was getting a great workout. We did lots of work on breathing to help prepare me for the birth and calm my busy mind as well as strengthening my glutes to ensure I had a pain free pregnancy and a good recovery after the birth. I’m so pleased I found her and I have learnt so much more about my body than I already knew. Once I had the baby, I joined her post-natal group classes and had some post-natal massage sessions with her husband James. A year on and I have returned to regular exercise and have remained pain and injury free!
