What To Expect From Your Pilates Class…
Since we know how much pregnant mums have to contend with especially when you have to fit in all those ‘nesting’ projects before your baby arrives you can also book private 1-2-1 Move and Bloom classes to fit in with your schedule. We will provide you with all the information you need to support you through your pregnancy, prepare you for childbirth and life looking after a baby and ensure a smooth postnatal recovery. If you have any specific health concerns or are under Consultant care this is often a preferred option. The classes are 60 minutes long.
We focus on releasing tension caused by your ever-changing body shape, maintaining a balanced posture and optimal alignment and reducing the stresses and strains caused by your growing foetus and bump. This will help prevent back pain and tension building up in the body.
There is a deep focus on breathe work and connecting with your pelvic floor and deep abdominals and learning how to both strengthen and release them. We focus on optimal foetal positioning and preparing your body for child birth. This will aide you with your birth preparation, enable a positive birth experience and smooth postnatal recovery.
We incorporate functional exercise to strengthen and tone the body as being a mum is hard work.
We will practice deep relaxation and hypnobirthing to help you unwind and relax. This will help you relax, alleviate stress and anxiety.
You will have time to chat about your pregnancy experience and any concerns you might have.
NOTE: Due to the Corona virus all 1-2-1 sessions are currently being taught virtually using a video conferencing tool called zoom. As well as the class I will provide home exercise videos.

I am a specialist pilates teacher with deep knowledge and experience of working with the pregnant and postnatal population. I did my initial training with Rachel Rafiefar and completed her Thoughtful Body Pregnancy and Postnatal Postgraduate Assessment in June 2015.
Realising that this was an area I was truly passionate about and wanted to specialise in, I went on Carolyne Anthony’s Center for Women’s Fitness Pre and Postnatal training. Still thirsty for more knowledge I have recently started Advanced CPD in Modern Pregnancy Functional Exercise & Birth Preparation Programming with Burrell Education, the leading Women’s Wellness, Fitness & Therapy Educator. Most importantly, I have been through three pregnancies and births and, due to congenital hip disorder, I really struggled through my first two pregnancies ending up spending the third trimester on crutches. I really do understand the toll pregnancy can have on your body both emotionally and physically. My Pilates studies and personal experience really helped me through my pregnancies and births resulting in a really wonderful pregnancy and home birth third time round. I am passionate about supporting women through their pregnancies and helping them to have the birth experience they want whilst being fit, relaxed and pain free throughout pregnancy and strong for life as a mum.
I have experience and many successes supporting pregnant mums with a range of pregnancy conditions such as pelvic girdle pain (PGP) including pubic pain which was previously called symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD), sciatica, sacro-iliac pain, pelvic floor weakness, back and neck tension, piriformis pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, oedema, hypermobility, headaches, pregnancy related insomnia, stress and anxiety.

After feeling the physical strains of pregnancy it was a welcome relief to begin the 1-2-1 pregnancy course with Angela, even after our first session I felt like a new woman with spring in my step, my posture improved dramatically over the weeks and most of all my mobility. Angela’s experience, drive & enthusiasm is infectious, definitely recommend this course…Thanks Angela, you’re amazing!
I have been seeing Angela for individual and group classes since 2016. She taught me both postnatal and pre natal pilates. I have had had many Pilates teachers before Angela and she has been the best by far. She is expert at assessing your abilities and goals, with great results. Angela spends time explaining how to do the exercises properly so that you get the most out of the classes and understand your own body’s strengths and weaknesses. She plans every lesson in advance and puts huge effort into understanding you as an individual, not just your pilates abilities but your general well-being. She has a holistic approach and will recommend other professionals when needed. I highly recommend her.
I loved my 1-1 sessions with Angela during my pregnancy with my second child – they were like a weekly therapy session for me when life was busy juggling working and being a Mum to a toddler. Angela is a wonderful teacher and really took the time to plan each lesson meticulously, tailoring it to my needs. Movement and exercise is really important to me as someone who has run marathons and competed in triathlons in the past and she was fantastic in modifying the exercises for me as my pregnancy progressed whilst still ensuring that I was getting a great workout. We did lots of work on breathing to help prepare me for the birth and calm my busy mind as well as strengthening my glutes to ensure I had a pain free pregnancy and a good recovery after the birth. I’m so pleased I found her and I have learnt so much more about my body than I already knew. Once I had the baby, I joined her post-natal group classes and had some post-natal massage sessions with her husband James. A year on and I have returned to regular exercise and have remained pain and injury free!
